Messi Has Appeared In Several TV Commercial

Many of Messi’s commercial and sponsorships never make it to the US and are only shown on TV channels abroad. This was the case for a 2012 series of commercials Messi shot alongside NBA star Kobe Bryant. The two pros battle it out for the attention of a young fan by showing off their skills with the ball.

The commercials are for Turkish Airlines and some are filmed onboard a plane, according to TA’s official website.

Lionel Messi Vs Cristiano Ronaldo

  1. Skills on the ball: In his short career, Lionel Messi, the Argentinean forward, has developed unique dribbling skills that have likened him to great footballers like Maradona and Pele. A fast flick and quick turn with the ball is all it takes for him to score a magnificent goal. Cristiano Ronaldo is equally well-equipped with awesome dribbling skills. However, whereas Messi is faster, Ronaldo is sharper with the ball.
  2. Scoring Ability: The two stars have both led their clubs to formidable levels and made scoring seem easier than it really is. Messi's scoring ability with Barcelona is unquestionable. However, he is yet to match Ronaldo's scoring aggregate which nearly equals the number of appearances for his club, Real Madrid. Undeniably, Ronaldo, the Portugal-born striker, is a more accomplished poacher in front of the goal.
  3. Physical Attributes: Cristiano Ronaldo posses great charisma, pace, and power that makes him one of the most well-blended football icons of all times. Messi, despite his small stature, comes with the advantage of a low gravitational center. Because of this, he can easily avoid challenges and penetrate even the toughest of defenses. It is in no doubt that despite their differences, both players have been able to make the best out of their unique physical attributes.
  4. Team Play: In trying to be the best on the field, Cristiano Ronaldo can sometimes be selfish. So even though he is known to be good at shooting from different angles and distances, he sometimes does so at the expense of his well-placed teammates. However, Messi prefers to play with his teammates and is known for his unbiased focus on team success. This makes Messi a better team player than Ronaldo.

Messi Defends Rights Of Gaza Children

Popular Argentinian footballer Lionel Messi has defended rights of children in conflict areas, especially in the Gaza Strip where a month of fighting has claimed nearly 1,900 Palestinian lives.

Messi was wrote on his official Facebook website,“As a father and a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, I am terribly saddened by the images coming from the conflict between Israel and Palestine, where violence has already claimed so many young lives and to injure countless children,”

Messi, who currently plays for Barcelona, added that: “Children did not create this conflict, but they are paying the ultimate price,” and urged that “this cycle of senseless violence must stop. We must reflect on the consequences of military conflicts and children must be protected.”

He Become All-Time El Clasico Top Scorer

In the second El Clasico of the 2013/2014 season, the Barcelona defeated arch rival the Blancos by 4-3 with a lots of controversial. Regardless of that, Lionel Messi scored hat trick which included two penalties and surpassed his compatriot and Madrid legend Alfred Di Stefano (18) becoming the derby's all-time top scorer with 21 goals.

His First Hat trick against Real Madrid

His first ever hat trick against Real Madrid was in 2007 when he still 18 years old. His third goal deny Real Madrid to win that game. And Raul, the Real Madrid legend, predicted Lionel Messi to become one of the best in the future.

FIFA BALLON D'OR AWARD

Lionel Messi has won the FIFA BALLON D'OR for fourth time from 2009-2012.

10 Reasons Why Lionel Messi Can Be The Greatest In The World

  1. BALANCE:  At 5ft 7in, Lionel Messi is just two inches taller than his idol Diego Maradona, and shares the same astonishing balance and lower body strength writes Mike Norrish. This allows Messi to move laterally at incredible speed, which is why he darts inside flat-footed left-backs with such ease.
  2. COMPOSURE: Messi wastes few chances once through on goal, and rarely snatches at a shot. Once into the penalty area, he will often wait for a goalkeeper to commit himself before drinking the ball over him and into the net.
  3. CONTROL
  4. DRIBBLING
  5. GENEROSITY
  6. PASSING
  7. POWER
  8. SPEED: With the small, squat build of a sprinter, Messi has incredible acceleration from a standing start. He bursts out of the blocks and reaches full speed within five yards, the kind of pace which defenders find so difficult to deal with. His short stride means he is also able to change direction at nauseating speed while keeping control of the ball.
  9.  AWARENESS
  10. STRENGTH

His Family

Lionel Messi has two older brothers Rodrigo and Matias. He also has a Sister called Maria Sol. His father Jorge Horacio Messi was a factory worker born 1958. His mother Celia Maria Cuccittini was a part time cleaner.

A Lionel Messi biography would be incomplete without mention of the Leo Messi Foundation. Messi formed this charitable organization in the year 2007 with the help of his family. Part of the hefty Lionel Messi salary is set aside to help children at risk. With Unicef as its official partner, the Leo Messi Foundation has been doing a lot of good work since its founding. Messi has opened children’s parks, joined the Red Cross campaign “Our world. Your move,” become a Unicef goodwill ambassador, and more. The Leo Messi Foundation, among other things, offers help to children with growth problems – an issue that Messi himself faced during his childhood. Messi once said, “I will keep fighting to bring joy to children with the same force and intensity that I need to remain a footballer.” This millionaire has his heart in the right place.

Short Biography Of Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi was born in 24th June 1987, in Rosario, Argentina

His father was a factory steel worker, and his mother was a cleaner

He began his career playing football when he was 16 years old. However, at the age of 11, he was diagnosed with growth hormone deficiency (GHD). This was a condition that stunted growth, and required expensive medical treatment, including the use of the drug Human growth hormone.

Local club, River Plate were interested in signing Messi, but didn’t want to pay for his medical treatment. However, Messi was given a trial with Barcelona, and coach Carles Rexach was impressed – offering Messi a contract (written on paper napkin!) which included paying for Messi’s treatment in Spain. Messi moved to Barcelona with his father and became part of the prestigious FC Barcelona youth academy.
