Messi was brought up in Spain since he was 11 years old, he has Spanish Nationality. But he decided to play for Argentina, the country of his birth. And he was make his International debut for Argentina in August 2005.
In 2006, he participated in the World cup and becoming Argentina's youngest player to play in World Cup. His side were eliminated in the quarter final.
In 2008, he won an Olympic Gold medal for his country in football at the Beijing Olympics.
In 2010 World Cup, Messi wore the number 10 shirt and played very well for his country and help his side reach the quarter final. But he was struggled to score and eliminated by Germany after lost 4-0.
